Explore Kelowna: Mission Creek

November 19, 2015

There is a beautiful trail that runs all the way from Okanagan Lake all the way into the Joe Rich/East Kelowna area. This trail is called The Mission Park Greenway located within Mission Creek Park.  This trail is an easy walk for the whole family, including the family pet!  Mission Creek allows dogs on leash.Mission-Creek-Kelowna-Rutland_0652

It was a gloomy Saturday with the sunny fall days turning more into rainy fall days.  We decided to go for a nice leisurely stroll down Mission Creek.  We parked in the parking lot located off Hollywood Road S where you can find flushing toilets!  We walked along the trail for about an hour stopping to check out the creek and take photos along the bridges.

We eventually turned around because the rain got much worse and started to pour down.  We did notice that even though part of the trail was washed out, due to spring and fall storms, they have created a trail that detours you around this section and back onto the trail.  However this detour section is more of a moderate difficulty due to the incline and stairs.  There were garbage cans and benches located throughout this section of the trail along with a, at the time, very clean porta potty.  This trail runs along Mission creek weaving through the trees which makes it feel like you are walking on a trail on the west coast.Mission-Creek-Kelowna-Rutland_0657

The Trail Scoop:

Trail difficulty: Easy
Garbage bins: A few points along the trail
Bathroom facilities: In the parking lot and an outhouse along the trail
Dog Friendly: Yes – On leash

We are 351!

We created 351 Apparel in February 2018, after feeling that the Okanagan could use a bit of creativity and humour. So we’ve combined Andy’s skills of punny-phrases & adventure survivalist skills, and Amber’s creative designs and love for adventure into one apparel & gear company. Check out our products here.

After a few years of running the apparel business, we’ve decided to work at sharing our exploration of the Okanagan, screenprinting knowledge & more.
